Just yesterday, someone called me and asked if it was really true that we were giving our clients a free mockup with no strings attached. I said a definite YES. I was met with an incredulous expression of surprise, as our prospective customer asked how that could be possible in a country like Singapore (known to be kiasu)….

Well, all I could say was that we believe that the majority of Singaporeans are not the kind of people who will purposefully take advantage of people. There might be 1 or 2 rotten apples, but on the whole, prospective customers who requests for a mockup from us are generally serious buyers of our services.

Of course, having said that, we do not necessary get the deal after showing our customers the initial mockup. In cases like these, we DO NOT HASSLE our clients to use our services (as a matter of fact, we do not collect any deposits for the mockup!). We let our clients move on to our designers. We understand that design is a very personal and subjective issue. Our working style and design judgements might not be compatible.

In 199Web, we only want HAPPY customers.

Recently, one of our customers felt that our design was not up to standard after we did 3 seperate mockups for him. We apologised for wasting his time and wish him luck in finding a more compatible designer….
